Both the cat clinic and the main clinic have a preparation area where the patient is anaesthetised, clipped and scrubbed for surgery and where non-sterile procedures such as dentistry are performed. These areas also include day kennels where recovering patients are monitored carefully until they wake up and are taken back onto the wards.

There are 2 sterile theatre areas, one exclusively for cats, where surgery is performed and access is restricted to essential personnel. An area in-between serves as a scrub area where surgeons prepare for sterile operations.
